Welcome to the Evelyn T. Stone College of Professional Studies. This is a dynamic learning community dedicated to helping you achieve your educational goals. When students talk to us, we listen, and we've responded to what we've heard for the past forty years. This past year has seen great innovation in our offerings and our delivery systems. The College provides exciting and distinctive learning environments for students of all ages, including many programs tailored specifically for Adults. Our classes are taught by a dedicated group of full-time professors and industry leaders who use analytical and creative approaches in an energizing, innovative format.
We offer the Bachelor of Professional Studies in Business, an exciting option for adult students. This major combines the core courses in business, preparing students for either professional advancement in their career or later pursuit of a graduate degree, with the option of focusing on a specific area of concentration, ranging from traditional business disciplines such as accounting to a broader complementary field such as sustainability, organizational leadership, hospitality and tourism management and paralegal studies. This program utilizes the unique General Education requirements of our Adult Fast Track programs, resulting in a significant reduction in time and expense needed to earn a valuable undergraduate business degree.
The Bachelor of Professional Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Studies (SUST) is an exciting undergraduate major that is interdisciplinary and environmentally-focused. The SUST program is the first such sustainability-themed bachelor's degree program in the Chicago area.
The Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Professional Studies in Criminal Justice are designed for both criminal justice professionals seeking advancement and those who wish to become criminal justice professionals. The programs prepare students for supervisory and management roles in such areas as policing, homeland security, courts, corrections, juvenile justice, child and victim advocacy, security and associated support agencies.
The Manfred Steinfeld School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is the only school in Illinois to offer both bachelor's and master's degrees in this growing field. The program prepares participants for leadership careers in lodging, food and beverage management; meeting, convention and exhibition management; tourism administration; sports hospitality; and club and gaming management. Internships in the world's most prestigious hotels and tourism establishments and a generous scholarship program are available for well-qualified individuals.
The Bachelor of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership (OLED) provides a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership issues, combining management science, humanities, social sciences, research science, communication arts, technology, and ethics. Students develop the skills needed to create a positive impact in the workplace by focusing on the "human side" of organizations.
The Paralegal Studies Program delivers an American Bar Association approved paralegal certificate, preparing students for exciting and challenging careers in the legal profession. Students may enroll for the post-baccalaureate certificate or combine the certificate with a bachelor's degree program.
Training and Development prepares tomorrow’s leaders in the growing field of workplace learning and performance. Students develop a highly marketable skill set and are prepared to take an integral role in reshaping tomorrow’s workforce. Courses blend current theory along with practice and are mapped to ASTD competencies, so you are assured of receiving the most relevant curriculum that transfers immediately to the workplace. We offer Master of Arts degrees in Training and Development, and Human Performance Improvement. And we offer graduate credentials in Instructional Design, E-Learning, Online Teaching and the newly added Post Graduate Credential in Online Teaching in Higher Education.
Exemplifying the mission of Roosevelt University are the Department of Human and Community Renewal, which offers life skills programs to individuals recently released from prison, and the English Language Program, which offers academic English as a Second Language (ESL) classes that prepare non-native speakers of English for study at the graduate or undergraduate level. Our ESL program provides international students greater access to the university.
