The Roosevelt University Counseling Center offers a number of services in addition to therapy. Those services include consultation and referral. While our therapy services are open to actively enrolled students, the consultation and referral services are offered to Roosevelt faculty, staff, alumni, student and parents. These services function as brief meetings with our counselors to assess a situation or answer specific questions you may have.
There are many instances where you are concerned about a friend, family member, student or someone else. We are available to discuss ways to handle these situations. Consultation is available to individuals and groups for students, faculty, and staff. Limited consultation is also available to parents of students. You can receive consultation by either coming in during our consultation hours or by calling our office and requesting to talk with a therapist.
We are familiar with resources in the community and can guide students, alumni, faculty and staff toward needed services. On occasion, our staff will refer a student to local agencies, hospitals or clinics for clinical services when the student's needs require treatment that the Counseling Center is unable to provide.
The Counseling Center has created a guide to help faculty and staff in the event that they would like to refer a student to the Counseling Center found on the Faculty and Staff page under Resources. If there are any questions or concerns not covered by the guide or something is unclear we urge anyone to contact us at (312) 341-3548 or stop by our office at AUD 462.
