Roosevelt offers a variety of courses in French, German, Italian, and Spanish for students interested in developing proficiency in these languages. Courses develop the student’s ability to speak, understand, read, and write in the target language. From the beginning level, the target language is used extensively, and students are encouraged to use it in an array of activities and situations.
Student-centered class exercises are devoted to listening, speaking, writing and reading, in accordance with the goals of the particular course. The study of culture is systematically incorporated into all levels of instruction and facilitates students’ goals in developing language abilities for the purposes of study abroad, business, travel, teaching, health care, or public administration.
