Criminal Justice Minor

Students majoring in other subjects can minor in Criminal Justice. Courses explain how a society maintains social control while protecting individual rights and how the constitution applies to everyday life. Students discuss what causes criminal behavior and what makes effective crime policy. They learn how to control, deter and punish crime, and they understand the role of police, prosecutors, the courts, defense attorneys, juries, jails and prisons.

Requirements

  • 18 credits in Criminal Justice courses, including 12 credits required at Roosevelt
  • Grade of C- or higher in all CJL courses.
