ME 337 - MARCHING/JAZZ BAND MANAGEMENT

Marching Band: Students are engaged in thinking about the wide variety of pedagogies, partnerships and events comprising a successful marching band program, a complex and highly visible activity that requires the director to develop and implement a unique and diverse skill set. Jazz Band: Students are exposed to the basic concepts and pedagogies of jazz music as applicable to the school jazz ensemble, with emphasis on teaching in a typical big band setting. The student will build a basic foundation of jazz knowledge upon which to build in future independent learning endeavors.
