The Graduate Credential in Online Teaching explores the pedagogy and provides the skills and techniques needed to deliver learning effectively through an online medium. Our program serves the needs of a broad range of educational occupations including faculty in higher education; corporate, association and military trainers; curriculum designers and administrators; and other educators. It will enhance the skills of those who are currently teaching online classes or who want to transition to teaching in an online environment.
Classes are taught by a dedicated group of full-time professors and industry leaders who use analytical and creative approaches in a highly energizing, constructivist format. Courses are mapped to Association for Talent Development (formerly ASTD) competencies and informed by the quality standards of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) to ensure that this highly relevant curriculum transfers immediately to the workplace. Three courses are combined to create this comprehensive program.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited institution with an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. A written statement of academic and professional goals and a current resume are required. For additional information, contact the Graduate Program in Training and Development.
Three courses (nine credit hours) are required.
The Credential in Online Teaching is ideal for both those who are currently working in the field who would benefit from a formal education and those who plan to enter the field. The program consists of three required courses.
