Executive Coaching, Graduate Credential

The five-course (15-credit hour) Graduate Credential in Executive Coaching is offered in the classroom and fully online. Using a cohort model, the credential can be earned in only two semesters.

This credential is designed to develop student expertise in the theories and practices of professional coaching, a systematic approach to improving productivity and competence.

Professional coaches provide an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Coaches help people improve their workplace performance and enhance the quality of their lives. Students will learn to use a set of methods, procedures and strategies to facilitate performance improvement at the individual and organizational level. This practice includes:

  • Improving the productivity, performance, and satisfaction of individuals, and teams to achieve business results.
  • Collecting, analyzing, interpretation data and providing feedback.
  • Designing, implementing, and evaluating organizational change.
  • Building and maintaining key partnerships with stakeholders to enhance business results aligned with strategic change initiatives.
  • Coaching individuals and teams for development and improved performance.


A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, plus a written goal statement, is required for admission. Interested students apply to the graduate program in Human Performance Improvement, seeking the credential.


Students must maintain a B average (3.0 grade point average) throughout the program. No more than two grades of C (not C-) can be applied toward the credential. Grades below C do not count toward the credential.
