Course Details


This course is primarily focused on providing background of structure and function of genes and chromosomes, protein synthesis, gene mapping and identification, genetic diagnosis/ testing, gene therapy, developmental and genetics of common diseases in relation to drug action. Understanding and interpretation of important concepts in personalized medicine (pharmacogenetics), clinical genetics and genetic counseling will be covered. Knowledge imparted will help students in therapeutic drug monitoring and optimization of drug therapy.
