Community Service & Civic Engagement
Part of the mission of Roosevelt University is “to promote a more humane and just society,” the CSI encourages students to connect with their community through a variety of service and civic engagement opportunities throughout the year.
Service projects are offered throughout the year and are featured in the CSI Student Activities Calendar. There are also toy, food, clothing, blood, and supply drives throughout the year. The personal rewards are many when you give your time and talents to any of the diverse community service organizations. Your work not only adds to your own educational enrichment, but helps to foster an environment which benefits a great number of people.
CIA: Community in Action
CIA is a program organized by the CSI in which Roosevelt students take monthly excursion trips and volunteer for non-profit organizations. Look for CIA flyers, the University Calendar and the "What's Happening @ Roosevelt" e-mail for upcoming events. Students can sign-up by contacting the office at csi@roosevelt.edu.
New Deal Service Days
The university hosts an annual spring event called New Deal Service Days. New Deal Days, held in Chicago and Schaumburg, connects students, faculty, staff and alumni with local service agencies for a "hands on" opportunity to help others.
