Roosevelt University

Leadership

We believe there is a leader within each of our students. Being a leader begins with self discovery, and we’re here to help you explore opportunities to find the leader within. We offer three programs to help with your discovery, The Leadership Workshop Series, the Eleanor Roosevelt Society and the Leadership Summit. These programs were created to enhance student’s leadership skills as well as to connect you to campus.

Leadership Development

Leadership Workshop Series

This series is designed for students of all levels and experiences to explore different avenues toward leadership development. This program is a semester-long commitment.  Each semester we host approximately 7 programs, which include a variety of exciting and interactive workshops facilitated by Roosevelt faculty and staff and other Student Affairs professionals.

Eleanor Roosevelt Society

This society incorporates leadership workshops, community excursions, weekly journaling, and a culminating leadership project. The program is designed to be an intensive six month program for students interested in exploring the connection between leadership and social justice. Students interested in this free leadership experience will be able to apply in the fall of each academic year.

Leadership Summit

This program promotes leadership development, self-reflection, social justice, and overall partnerships between students and administrators.

The 2012 Leadership Summit will be held February 3-5, 2012.  Contact the Center for Student Involvement at 312-341-2015 or csi@roosevelt.edu for information about the 2012 Summit.

Student Leadership Awards

Every spring the Center for Student Involvement coordinates the Student Leadership Awards Ceremony.  The program recognizes outstanding students, student organizations, and members of the Roosevelt community who have contributed significantly and uniquely to enhance learning outside the classroom.

Student Leadership Awards applications are now available and are due by 5m on March 5, 2012. The 2011-2012 Student Leadership Awards Ceremony will be held Friday, April 6, 2012 at 1:00pm in AUD Congress Lounge.
