Dean Lynn Weiner, College of Arts and Sciences 

Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences at Roosevelt University. This vibrant learning community of faculty, administrators and staff is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals.  The College of Arts and Sciences finds every opportunity to stretch the minds of our students and to engage their intellect through our quality academic programs, service learning opportunities, clubs, honor societies, and cultural and intellectual special events. 

There are ten departments within the College:
Biological, Chemical & Physical Sciences, Communication, Computer Science & Information TechnologyEconomicsHistory & Philosophy, Literature & LanguagesMathematics & Actuarial SciencePolitical Science & Public Administration, Psychology, and Sociology. Within these departments you will find faculty who are gifted teachers, accomplished scholars, and distinguished professionals in their fields.  The faculty's pursuit of scholarly and professional activities and their engagement in community, civic and cultural affairs enriches the intellectual lives of our students and the university community as a whole.

To enhance learning opportunities, the college has developed educational partnerships with prestigious institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the Newberry Library. Additional opportunities for exciting academic experiences are available through our growing number of practicum and internship offerings, as well as study abroad opportunities to Belize, China and England. Our centers, institutes, projects, forums and gallery (including the Center for New Deal Studies, Gage Gallery, Institute for Metropolitan Affairs, Institute for Politics, Joseph Loundy Human Rights Project, Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation, Montesquieu Forum for the Study of Civic LifeSt. Clair Drake Center for African and African American Studies and the Stress Institute) enliven the university community through academic program development, research, and public lectures and symposia.
