In addition, we want to highlight some of the recent featured events for the college or the business community that may be of interest to you.
Upcoming Events and Activities
On June 16, the Heller College of Business will move it's downtown offices from the Gage Building to the new Wabash Building.
Save the date: for Facing Forward's 6th Annual 3H Social: Home, Help & Hope Tuesday, June 26th, 6-9 pm.
The Heller College of Business will again sponsor the Teen Entrepreurship Academy, an opportunity for incoming high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate an aptitude in the areas of math, science and technology along with an interest in entrepreneurship. Selected students will attend the five-day, green-technology focused Entrepreneurship Academy at Roosevelt University Chicago at either the Chicago or Schaumburg campus. The Chicago Academy will be held July 15 - 20, 2012 and the Schaumburg Academy July 29 – August 3, 2012.
The National Center for Student Leadership (NCSL) Fall Conference is November 1-4 in Orlando Florida. Early registration ends July 31.
Announcing the 2013 RMA Credit Risk Case Competition February 21-23, 2013 with prizes up to $10,000. Early registration ends September 30, 2012.

May 4, 2012 - Franklin Honor Society Induction Ceremony of Roosevelt University. Agnes Podbial, 2012 BSBA, Major in Accounting graduate was selected to be the student speaker to deliver the induction speech [starting at 3:45 in the video below] . Agnes has been chosen to be a 2012-2013 Graduate Assistant in the Heller College of Business and will attain her CPA certificate and Master's degree in May of 2013.

April 21 and 22 the Heller College of Business sponsored the "Heller Fellows" weekend in which new students learned more about Roosevelt, did some team building, and learned leadership skills. Heller Fellows are the highest achieving students with leadership potential. Heller Fellows will be included as student leaders in college events; requested as student ambassadors and mentors for recruiting and events, notified of all the outstanding internship, special programs and job postings, and identified at graduation as a Fellow. Each year, the Center for Campus Life coordinates the Student Leadership Awards program to recognize outstanding students, student organizations and members of the campus community who significantly enhance learning outside the classroom. The Student Organization and Leadership Awards Banquet was held on Friday, April 13, 2012. Click here for more photos from the event. |

During Spring Break 2012, twenty four Heller College of Business students took an intensive 1 week course (MGMT 454 International Experience) at the Sorbonnes University in Paris. Click here for more pictures. See the Torch article. |

March, 2012, the Heller Incubator business, The Careers College, headed by Todd Bermont made its first sale to a Chicago-area library. The Careers College offers clients information and tools to build a career strategy. Mr. Bermont is finalizing a special offering to Roosevelt University HCB students. |

February, 2012, Dean Terri Friel participated in several international events including a NAFTA class at the Sorbonne University in Paris and the EFMD Dean's conference at Kent University in Nottingham, UK. November 16, 2011, the Heller College of Business celebrated several achievements at a ceremony in Schaumburg's Alumni Hall: welcoming our new Delta Mu Delta honor society members, recognizing several outstanding students with special Achievement Awards, and recognizing Spring 2011 Dean's List students.

July 2011, thirty high school students from the Chicago area received innovative math, science and green technology-based business life skills training at Roosevelt University during the second annual Green Teen$ Entrepreneurship Academy, which was made possible through the generosity of the Motorola Solutions Foundation. Led by Roosevelt’s Heller College of Business faculty as well as successful green-tech business entrepreneurs, the Academy provided incoming juniors, seniors and recent graduates from area high schools with opportunities to work with green-technology entrepreneurs, tour high-tech green facilities in the region and to develop their own green business plans.
