Mentoring Program

The Heller College of Business (HCB) has developed a Mentoring Program that brings together our partners in the Chicago business community and our students in the various degree programs. The purpose of the program is to extend the educational mission of the college by providing professional development opportunities in support of social justice, professional integrity, sustainable business practices, and global engagement.

Our mentors say...

"I wanted to come back to be a mentor again because I learned a lot from the students"

Our students say...

"I received some valuable information from my mentors. The information provided actually helped shape my future by assisting with my decision of how to utilize my degree."

"Advice from seasoned professionals whether directly in your field of study or not in priceless, and an asset that everyone should take advantage of at least once before graduating."

"I joined to learn of networking opportunities around Chicago, find volunteer opportunities, and meet other student professionals."

"...we were able to learn a variety of techniques to build our BRAND. Our mentors were very devoted to assisting us with any questions interviewing as well."

"It has given me a better edge in branding myself. The mentors are an excellent source of reference when looking into a particular industry. This is something not found in a textbook."

Meetings not only provide an avenue to obtain new information or brush up on existing skills, but I look forward to the supportive atmosphere created by our mentors. It is also a great forum for students to build relationships with other students, obtain tips and share ideas."

"It gave me anew spectrum of opportunities which I did not think otherwise exist."

"...the sessions provided a new insight to what employers want in their candidates. My mentors were positive. They gave me direction on my career, and encouraged me to never give up on my dreams."

"I really learned a lot about a lot."
