RU-SHRM Chapter Information

Welcome

Welcome to the RU-SHRM web site! Roosevelt University’s chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) focuses on developing students into becoming future professionals and leaders in human resources. Although SHRM is primarily composed of students studying human resources, we always welcome students joining with any major. Becoming a member of SHRM provides a plethora of resources for students to utilize in their studies, allows for networking opportunities with other HR professionals, and provides opportunities to gain recognition as knowledgeable experts in HR. SHRM is the most internationally recognized organization for human resources professionals and it is important for students to be involved at an early stage in their careers. In March 2012, RU-SHRM students and faculty plan to participate in the North Central Regional Student Conference. For the past two years 2010 and 2011 RU-SHRM has partnered with the national SHRM to hold key events attended by 150-200 HR professionals at our University and has worked with Career Services during job fairs to provide assistance to students in their job search and resume building. RU-SHRM will continue to be a useful resource for students to develop themselves as HR professionals..
