The Las Vegas Chapter is working to build a sustainable group through increased membership open not only to alumni, but also to those we are happy to call friends of Roosevelt! This expansion of our membership list will enable us to draw in interested people who can engage in any of our activities. At the November meeting, the membership will vote on its mission statement, establish committees and draft a calendar for the year ahead. The immediate goal is to develop a roster of 50 members who participate frequently in our activities. The plans may include a book club, hosting a wine and cheese get together, sponsoring speakers of interest, connecting to the RU College of Performing Arts, hosting political candidates for a question and answer forum, a sports night at UNLV and a family picnic. Also, a Chicago Night event is contemplated on a more grandiose scale. For the 2011-2012 year we expect to have at least four programs of interest.

As a new organization, the Las Vegas Chapter is setting goals to strengthen our connections to one another and build towards viability that will enable us to support Roosevelt University in many ways. We welcome all RU alumni to meet us and join in the fun.
