Review the audition requirements for your area. You are responsible for presenting appropriate repertoire for your intended major at your audition.
Ensure that all supplemental application materials (transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.) have been sent to CCPA.
Plan your arrival to the audition site. It's winter, so allow extra travel time, but keep in mind that auditions are rarely canceled for inclement weather. All auditions will take place at 430 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60605.
Music applicants: If your audition is performed with accompaniment, be sure that you have music copied and in a binder for your pianist. Jazz applicants must bring charts for their backup combo.
Musical Theatre applicants: Be sure that your audition accompaniment is ready to go on CD or iPod. A CD player will be provided at each audition site. A live accompanist will not be available to you.
Double check the audition materials you are bringing with you.
If you are unable to attend your audition for any reason, notify the CCPA Office of Enrollment. Your application fee will not be returned if you cancel your time. We will do our best to reschedule you for another date if you so desire.
Get a good night's sleep and drink lots of water! Taking care of yourself is a key part of a successful audition.
The CCPA Office of Enrollment will open each audition day at 8:00 am. When you arrive, enter the building on Michigan Avenue. The check-in desk will be on the 9th floor, in front of room 918. You may check in up to one hour before your audition. Practice rooms will be available for your use starting at 8:00am.
Performing Arts tours and Q&A sessions will be held on every audition date. Times and locations for these events will be posted at the check-in table.
Before leaving, be sure to verify with us your intended major, contact information, and teacher preference (if applicable). The information we have on file for you when you leave is permanent and will be where your audition result is sent.
Take some time to explore Chicago! Maps of all of the fantastic attractions and restaurants near campus will be available at the check-in table.
U.S. students and permanent residents must fill out the FAFSA for both scholarship and federal aid consideration. If yours isn't finished, now is the time to complete it. Roosevelt University's code is 001749.
While we understand your eagerness in checking in on your application, keep in mind that CCPA's applicant pool is at a record high, and our staff will be working to finalize decisions and admission offers in a very short period of time. If you are certain that your application is complete, there is no need to contact us just to check in.
Admission decisions will be sent out by April 15 at the very latest. Decisions will be emailed and sent via postal mail.
