All students who apply, audition, and are accepted to CCPA are considered for talent-based scholarships.
Students who apply to the Chicago College of Performing Arts are not eligible for academic scholarships through Roosevelt University.
We consider three areas when assigning scholarship:
Strength of the audition (or portfolio for Music Composition applicants).
Audition strength is determined by audition scores and faculty comments. This is the largest determining factor in scholarship assignment and value. Audition scores and faculty comments are not made available for review by applicants.
Needs of the school.
In order to maintain the correct balance of music and theatre students, the programmatic needs of the college are also considered. In the Music Conservatory, this includes maintaining a properly-balanced symphony orchestra; in the Theatre Conservatory this means maintaining a proper male/female ratio within the student body.
Financial resources of the student.
While CCPA and Roosevelt University do not have the resources to meet all financial need, this will be taken into consideration when determining some scholarship assignments. Financial need is demonstrated via the FAFSA (US Citizens and Permanent Residents) or submitted financial statements required for the student visa (International students).
Each student is considered for scholarship on an individual basis, and scholarship awards are never discussed with other applicants. It is also expected, and considered your responsibility, to not discuss your award with other students/applicants.
We understand that paying private institution tuition can be a daunting task. We encourage you to ask questions and be honest about your financial situation. In return, we will also be honest if there is no more aid available. CCPA's Enrollment Office strives for a fair scholarship assignment process, and endeavors to make attending CCPA a financial reality for as many students as possible.
