All applicants (U.S. residents, permanent residents and international students) must apply online. Applications for Fall entry are due January 15; Spring entry December 1*. Applicants to the Professional Diploma in Opera must complete the appropriate application by December 1.
The application fee is $100 if the application is completed on or before January 15. After January 15, the application fee is $125. The application fee is waived for students who have attended the senior conservatory at the Merit School of Music in Chicago.
* Applications and auditions for Spring entry are very select and granted only at the discretion of the admissions office. Please contact us at music@roosevelt.edu before applying to check for openings.
Follow the prompts online after you complete your application to select an audition date or to submit a recorded audition (due January 15, 2012).
Applicants to the Professional Diploma in Opera will be notified in December if they have been selected for the live January audition.
Music Composition applicants must submit portfolios in lieu of an audition; please refer to the Audition Requirements page for details.

Transfer students, if you are currently on scholarship at an NASM institution, you must submit a Transfer Release Form per NASM requirements. No admission decision or scholarship award will be issued without receipt of this form.
Each undergraduate music applicant must take a music theory diagnostic placement exam as part of the audition process. This exam will either be administered at the audition in Chicago or via a proctor remotely.
The following documents should be submitted to CCPA and received before the applicant’s audition date for maximum scholarship consideration.
Transfer applicants with more than 15 earned college credits are not required to submit high school transcripts.
International students may be required to have their transcripts evaluated by Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Two (2) Letters of Recommendation - There is no standard form for these letters, and they may be sent from the recommender vial email to music@roosevelt.edu.
ACT or SAT scores - (high school applicants only)
Many high schools print test scores automatically on transcripts, so check with your school counselor when requesting your transcripts. You are not required to submit your test scores separately if they are printed on your high school transcript. If you are requesting the scores directly from the testing centers, Roosevelt's ACT code is 1124; SAT code is 1666.

U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents must file the 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as close to the start of 2012 as possible if they wish to be considered for aid (which includes scholarship). The Roosevelt University FAFSA code is 001749.
NOTE: Students who apply to CCPA are ONLY eligible for performing arts scholarships, and are not eligible for academic scholarships. Auditions, programmatic needs of the conservatory, and financial need are considered.
Students who wish to appeal their scholarship decision may do so by submitting the CCPA Scholarship Appeal form. (Available starting April 1, 2012 on the CCPA Financial Aid and Scholarship page). This form is due by May 1, 2012.
Master of Music applicants who wish to apply for Graduate assistantships may indicate this on their audition request form.
If admitted, please respond with the signed agreement and tuition deposit by Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Undergraduates must also complete the online housing application via RUAccess by Tuesday May 1, 2012. All undergraduate CCPA students MUST live on campus for two years if they are under 21. The Music Conservatory (formerly Chicago Musical College) is a founding member of the National Association of Schools of Music. Therefore, we adhere to the NASM guidelines for admission and talent-based scholarship. Visit the NASM website for details.
January 15, 2012: Last day for students to complete the online application and schedule their audition.
February 2012: Student completes audition process.
March 1, 2012: Due date for all supplemental materials and financial aid information (including completing the FAFSA).
April 1, 2012: All students have been notified of their audition results and scholarship decisions.
May 1, 2012: Student makes decision whether or not to attend so that wait listed students may be notified as early as possible.
